Angry Unable to boot from hard drive

I am new to Linux. I installed Peanut Linux to my hard drive and used Boot Manager for dual booting with Win98. However when I attempt to boot to Linux from Boot Manager it will start to load but freeze up. I have to reboot.
I have no problems booting from the CD or a floppy and then going to the hard drive.
What can I do to resolve this problem? Could I have a bad installation?

Are you sure you installed it correctly?
What boot manager are you using? Is it LILO, Grub or a third

LILo is a great LInux LOader. It can boot 98, Linux and a bunch of
operating systems. I recommend you use it.
