Unable to boot Fedora 10 live cd past blue/light blue/white loading bar. Gfx issue?

trying to install Fedora 10 from live cd. Boots up to the loading bar screen (blue/light blue/white) then just goes black. Have verified the cd and it works on my laptop. I tried adding xdriver=vesa and nomodeset to the bootline but to no avail. Running on AMD phenom 9950, ATI radeon 4870 gfx.
Have searched fedora section of the forums but could find no info.

Any help much appreciated.
