UEFI Arch 64 already installed, using GPT and want windows 7 dualboot
Hello
I currently have Arch linux 64, a UEFI Bios (also legacy), a GPT boot partition and GUMMIBOOT. I want to install windows7 64 and dualboot into it. Now, i have done some reading and (i might be stupid) it seems i should just insert the install media and format a partition with NTFS and proceed with install. The major concern seems to be that windows install overwrites the GPT (with MBR?) and if that is the case, can i use a live usb with GPARTED to redo the GPT and use a live USB with Arch on it, to "fix" the GPT again? Best Regards D |
windows 7 should be able to run on gpt, the only difference will be that it will format it's partition to ntfs. Also it will overwrite your arch bootrecord, so you will have to reinstall grub.
