ubuntu32 -> 64bit upgrade?
Hi Guys
I first installed ubuntu 7.10 64bit and it worked a charm, but I screwed something up and decided upon a fresh reinstall, but I installed from the 32bit disk Obviously I have a 64bit processor, and would really like to get the most out of my linux machine, is there an easy way to "upgrade" the installation? I have tried googling for a solution but it seems to require a lot of modification and would hence be better for (another) reinstall Is there any kind of tool/application that can take care of this upgrade? I look forward to hearing your advice Regards |
Not worth the update.
Since its a fresh install, I would recommend you perform a new install. PS: I have a 64 bit machine that runs 32 bit ubuntu. Works perfectly fine. I had to install 32 bit because I couldn't get a lot of media apps to work on 64 bit. For me, media apps were important - home desktop. Hope that helps Ajay |
