ubuntu wireless issues


i know this question has been asked to death around here, but i need a little help setting up my wireless. i just bought a compaq mini 110c, preloaded with xp. i set up a dual boot system with xp and ubuntu 9.10 netbook remix, and i can't seem to get the wireless up and running. some relevant information(i hope)

and i got these 2 drivers, they were suggest by the system:
Broadcom STA wireless driver (not activated)
and B54 i think, i can't find it and i think it's probably the one currently active.
i would appreciate any help, thank you.

hi>
ok so your issue is actuallya common with ralink and broadcom. your card does not appear to have the firmware. the easiest way to show you is to give you two(2) links one is on the UBUNTO bug page( google is your friend)

thank you for the help, i got it fixed. i went with the broadcom sta wireless driver. for some reason when i downloaded it didn't set itself up properly. i removed it and installed it again. lazy solution, but save the hard fixes for my slackbox.
