Ubuntu will not BOOT after changing xorg.conf settings

Hi all,

So I am running Ubuntu on a Zotac ZBOX with an AMD graphics card. And I am trying to switch the colour display output from 24bit to 32bit.

After viewing some forums and videos, I tried to change the setting in the xorg.conf file under DefaultDepth to 32 rather than 24.

Initially, when rebooting again, i got the error of "Your system is running on low graphics" and did not let me go into the ubuntu user interface. After messing around with some other settings in xorg.conf, now when i try to reboot, it stops at the screen where it shows the ubuntu logo and loading dots under the logo and is stuck there.

Not sure what to do for next step.

help anyone?

Simply delete the file and reboot

How do I delete the file without accessing some kind of command line or terminal?

I've tried CTR-ALT-F1 but it doesn't go into console mode.

Boot from a live cd, and put the backup, you made before changing the file, back.
Also which files did you alter?

Kind regards

boot in rescue mode
get a root terminal or terminal

rm -f /etc/X11/xorg.conf
check exact path
or simply
fix X

there is no xorg.conf file in recent versions
