ubuntu usb? XGL?

I got to thinking, and i was wondering if it would be possible to run linux with the new xgl fancy animations, from a usb key. usb 2.0? would it have to be ubuntu running from that usb key? i dont think ubuntu will install to a usb key...

You could try a Kororaa Xgl live cd image, these can be installed and booted from USB key.

humm, would it be relatively fast? or work well? could i save data or my profile?
