Question Ubuntu terminal disregarding other calculations when changes are made.

When writing a shell script on my first attempt the terminal was able to execute all the commands from the shell script, but when i realized i made some mistakes i had to change certain things e.g. variable names.
So when i tried running the corrected shell script commands on the terminal again, it gave the answer of the corrected commands but the rest of the unchanged commands were not able to be executed. The terminal just gave a blank space as the answer.

Any advice as to why it is like that?

Without seeing the actual script you wrote and seeing the point at which the commands ceased to be executed that would be difficult. Any reason not to post the script?
