Ubuntu studio theme in Red Hat
Hi there,
is it possible to use Ubuntu Studio theme on other distros than Ubuntu. I am using CentOS 5.1 in boring studio environment, I would like to spice up my desktop a little bit :) I followed these instructions: http://nighthacker.net/easy-way-to-i...ain-ol-ubuntu/ But as ubuntu seems to be based on debian then its Gnome theme seems not to be compatible with RH stuff :/ Thanks a lot! I was planning to do another post but probably it is better idea to ask it straight here. I would also like to test out KDE 4 and new Gnome, how hard it would be for linux novice to get them running in CentOs 5.1. All dev packages along with kernel source is installed in my machine. |
Have you tried the drag and drop method mentioned in the link you provided? One method would be to convert the deb file to an rpm using alien and then use "rpm -Uvh" to install it. Another option would be to extract the contents of the deb file using the command "ar xv ubuntustudio-feisty-art_0.1_all.deb", then run "tar zxvf data.tar.gz" and copy the extracted files and directories to various subdirectories in /usr.
