Question Ubuntu: Some programs missing text

Hi...

This is a problem I am having on my Ubuntu machine.
I think it might be due to some testing with qt4 from my part but I don't know how to fix it.

Some programs like OpenOffice, gFTP, gVIM and many more are missing the text in the application.

Well I thought that maybe someone here can help me solve this problem, because I would like to be able to read OpenOffice files :/

I had the same problem. Seems to be a problem with the Nvidia drivers in my case. You might give daveh's solution in this post https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294076

His solution worked for me. Well I still have missing text in Wine but that is the only app that is still a problem. Good luck!
