Ubuntu shows up in the OS selection option even though I've uninstalled it

I'd used ubuntu parallely with windows 8 for a while and had uninstalled it some time ago.Now the problem is I get ubuntu on my OS selection and when clicked does not lead me anywhere but simply to the same OS selection menu. How do i remove it?..

PS-The option comes twice one below the other
