Ubuntu remote connection

Hi,

I enabled Ubuntu's remote desktop connection but it works really slow. Refresh rate is really bad and I have to disconnect and reconnect multiple times. I'm using VNC Server. Is there any other remote software out there that I could use? thanks

By far the best solution I have come across is NX by NoMachine. Here is the link

There is a server available with most distors that is open source. I usually use the open source server, and NoMachines client. If you do a little googling there are howto's to set it up. Ssh has to be working first.
