Ubuntu on Acer netbook
 

I'm not able to install Ubuntu 8.04 on my Net book Acer Aspire one with WinXP and always be dumped to the initramfs prompt

Please start your own thread. This is not to be nasty, but it gets confusing when people start replying and you don't know if an advise given applies to your problem or to bdmsb's problem and bdsmb does not know if the advise appplies to his problem or to yours.

How are you installing? (e.g. from a USB stick?)

Please describe the steps in more detail, and tell us which step gives you the error.

For what it's worth, several distros (Including Ubuntu) are available in a version specifically for netbooks.
