Ubuntu on Acer Aspire One video and touchpad problems

I am hoping someone may have some insight as to a problem I am experiencing. I have an Acer Aspire One (KAV10) that dies on WInXP. I decided to load Unbuntu Desktop v12.04 LTS. Everything appeared to work great and as expected. I downloaded a game from the Apps Store and left it running for a few hours. Upon my return I found the screen was blank (I figured it was in some sort of screensaver mode) and would only flash briefly displaying the contents of the game before blanking out again. My only way out was a hard power down and restart. It periodically continues to do this and is basically unstable. At the same time, I found the touchpad does not respond anymore. I ave connected a wireless mouse and that has got me out of a jam but I don't know why the touchpad no longer functions....it worked when I first got Ubuntu working but not anymore. I thought the issue was the video driver but I can't seem to figure out how to update it and even if there is an update. Thanx!

UPDATE -- I located the problem I was experiencing with my touchpad. Apparently in my haste to resolve the screen issue, I selected a Fn (function) to disable the touchpad. A simple fix.

Would it work if you uninstall the game you downloaded from the app store? It happens to me in my desktop when I play OpenArena the resolution on my screen goes crazy and I have to log out and log back in.

Crazy stuff.

Good luck to you!
