I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 and i have just installed the latest version of UNR and it is running unbelievably slow. Does anybody have any suggestions? I'm sorry if i wasn't descriptive enough in the subject but i couldn't fit what i wanted to say in the subject header.

Define: slow.

What happens? What's slow? Why so? What's expected? Disk activity light going on or off? Error messages?

These are good things to say that in many cases need to be said before we can help you answer your question. Remember, for each description and observation you record and post, the more the likelihood of getting a useful answer.

A usual side-effect of swapping too much is "slow." Swapping is the term used for the virtual memory the kernel uses on the hard disk as if it were RAM. When you're PC has too little RAm, the swap is used more. Because this method is using the HDD constantly while all other HDD usage is going on, it often will slow the computer down considerably.

It would be beneficial if you could post some specifications of your PC as well.
