I am new to Linux, and have used the Ubuntu Live cd to get a quick sneek peek.
I was curious, as to how secure I am using the live cd.
Does anyone know if its even possible for my puter to be comprimised when I am running the Linux OS from CD?
I would imagine not, since I dont think its even possible to contract a virus or spyware, trojan, keylogger, any of that sort without the OS being on HD, Is that right?
I am just wondering if I am being Naive, thinking that I am totally secure accessing my $$$ type accounts(paypal, e-gold etc.,etc.,) online, by the use of the Live CD?
A number of servers do (or did) run entirely from live cds. This is because, in the event of a crack, rebooting sets you back to 0 and the crack isn't there. No cookies are stored on your pc, so you should be safe.
In future, click the "report this post to a moderator" link and request the thread be moved. Don't just repost the thread. As it is, I have wasted my time three times on this thread: once to answer it, once to realise you double posted and once to report it.
Why do you say thats wasting your time?
If you feel answering questions is a waste
of time, then dont do it. I reposted
it my self in the security, section, so
that certainly wasn't wasting YOUR time,
above all, being a newb. and not seeing
the security section at first, I was very
apologetic in my post. so take a chill pill,
and if your duties bother you so much, then
dont do them.
