Ubuntu Linux Installation Problem

Hello - Im new to Linux and decided to install Ubuntu Linux after a lot of my friends told me about it. I decided to try it on my old laptop. Its a 700Mhz 10gig WindowsMe.

The Installation stops at ACPI: Subsystem revision 20050211.

Can anyone help me with this.

Thanks.

Try to boot the installation cd again, but this time at the first command prompt (first boot screen) pass 'acpi=off' to the kernel. It means, type it at the prompt.
