Ubuntu Hoary And Darwin for i386 on1 hd?

i've been using ubuntu/debian distro's as only linux versions..
now, since i dont have a mac my-self, i wish to try Darwin now and i want to do that on one harddisk, now i used Gparted (im using ubuntu-hoardy now) to try to make meself a new partition, but I dont have that option anywhere probably since i cant unmount my hda1 (which is my main and only hd, 1part for ubuntu, 1 linux-swap.
is there a way for me to do this, can anybody please lead me through this..
thanks alot.

You can always do the following:

Get the live cd from Ubuntu or Knoppix and start that.

Now you are operating from memory and you can manipulate the HD.

For knoppix I now you have only rights to read the HD so you must change the rights. I'm not sure if Ubuntu does it the same way.

You now that you must use SUDO in Ubuntu (cause ther's no root) so you can start up Gparted with sudo.

I would advise to backup everything before making your partition smaller and creating a new one.

Have a lot of fun.
