Ubuntu Dual monitor with 4870?

Hello there, I'm fed up with Windows so I switched over to Ubuntu. I'm trying to get my original setup with my dual 22" monitors but for some reason when I enable them in Ubuntu I get the following problems...

1) If i move the mouse from left to right, it will get stuck on the right monitor and I am unable to move it back to the left monitor

2) Opening the displays manager in Ubuntu causes the OS to run extremely slow as if i was running at 100% cpu.

What am I doing wrong, or better yet, is there a more suitable Linux distro for ATI drivers/Gaming with Wine?
