ubuntu boot screen

how can i make the boot screen of ubuntu 7.10 fancy.

There are multiple boot screens: Grub- the first, displaying boot options.
USplash- displays while the Linux loads, with progress bar. Login Window, aka GDM theme. Gnome Boot Splash, when Gnome loads it greets you.

All of which can be added to/ changed. Usplash is difficult, but not impossible.

Take a look thru synaptic, I'm pretty sure thats where I found the tool to change my login screen.

And as combatwombat said, has some awesome boot screens/themes/wallpapers etc..
