Ubuntu 9.10 stuck at startup
Hullo,
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 inside VMWare Workstation on Windows XP (Yo dawg... I put an OS inside yo OS), and when I rebooted my virtual machine tonight it happened that I couldn't reach the login screen. I've rebooted several times and after going through the usual boot sequence and showing me the boot progress bars, Ubuntu hangs at what should be the login screen with the "busy" cursor spinning round and round.
I can press CTRL+ALT+F1 to get to a console, however, and then I can login and use my computer normally (albeit without a GUI). The only thing I can think of that I've changed recently was I installed a new window manager, XMonad -- but I don't see how that could affect the login screen. Does anyone know why this is happening to me?
Thanks!
