Ubuntu 9.10 Simple Server

Is there a way of setting up Ubuntu as a simple server for home use, not being used from outside of the home.

Just for internal use, security not being a problem.

Thanks

Yes it can be. Can you point out what you want your server to do? Web server? Samba file server? Gateway? If you can tell us your requirement, you would get much better replies.
