Ubuntu 9.04 Flash video, but no audio

Hello,

I have recently installed Ubuntu 9.04 and am enjoying it a lot. The only problem I seem to have is that on any flash video (youtube, liveleak, etc) the video will play just fine however there will be no audio.

I have done some searching and found that this is a common problem, however I have yet to find a solution for it. Would upgrading to 9.10 fix this?

It is most likely in your flash plugin. Ubunutu has standard a free implementation of the flash player plugin but there is still work to be done on it. You should try un-installing the installed version and install the non-free one.

I'm not entirely sure which plugins your referring to. But from the add/remove menu I took off the macromedia flash plugin and installed adobe flash plugin 10.

After rebooting theres no change, video still plays fine but theres no audio.
