Ubuntu 8.10: Printing CDs on Canon IP4500?
Hi All,
I am trying to get my Canon iP4500 printer to print on Cds using the tray that came with it for this purpose. The software that comes with it ("CD Label Print") in Windows only, and an internet search tells me it won't work with WINE. The printer works fine with regular paper. I found a workaround using gLabels on http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-670263.html but when I try Quote:
(Even when logged in as root) I tried to duplicate the template by hand in Glabels, but it would not accept the values from the original. I then could not find the saved template to edit it manually. (it is *not* in /usr/share/glabels/templates ) Has anyone got this work? Why can I not copy the xml file, even when logged in as root? Thanks for any help... Dutch |
Does /usr/share/glabels/templates even exist?
Go to the prompt and do: cd /usr/share/glabels/templates If you can get in there, do `ls -lah` to show the permissions. If you can get in there you should be able to copy files in to it. |
Yes, the directory does exist.
However, I got a permission denied error when copying through the GUI. Result of ls -lah: Quote:
(I have no experience with the command line yet. Ubuntu makes it too easy :-)) Thanks Dutch |
