ubuntu 8.01 reinstall or repair

I am having some weird problems on my Ubuntu Hardy. Single partition. I wonder if there's a chance i can avoid the reinstall afresh and try some sort of repair from the ISO cd...?! Is it?
Thanks amigos..!

Well without details on what 'weird problems' entail, there isn't a lot we can tell you. There are many instances where a simple upgrade or correcting a few core items will resolve problems and others it becomes far more simple to reinstall.

Regardless of what you need to do be sure to get a full backup of the system before you perform any operation on it.
