Question Ubuntu 7.10 CD won't install on my computer??

I have just received Ubuntu 7.10 CD in the mail today. I can install the three programs to try them but I can't install the actual operating system. In the instruction it says to double click on the "install" icon. The default installation will erase all existing software and data from my computer. Is it possible that I have a demo version??

it means that if you need some of the data on that box you should not select the default installation but a manual one. Then you will be able to partition the disks on the box to securely install ubuntu somewhere.

Question cant install linux

Thanks for your reply j-ray. I can't see a default option on the screen that comes up. There is only the download icons which only installs your 3 programs.
