Is it possible to use Lexmark printers with Linux?

I am running Ubuntu 7.04 which is exellent ,but cannot figure how to use X1270 printer....

Lexmark has notorious issues with running on Linux of nearly any sort. Best to use HP printers as they work nearly every time.
