Ubuntu 6.06 Boot Problems

I have just received my order of Ubuntu 6.06 CDs and I added another IDE HDD (80Gb) to my PC. I booted up with the Live CD and told it to install on my Slave HDD.

It said that the installation was completed (only it could not connect to the Servers for updates or something, i think the ubuntu Servers are Down atm) It installed the GRUB loader on my Master HDD with the usual and Windows XP.

It will load up XP, but when I tell it to load up Ubuntu it gets to:

Loading essential Drivers .. OK
Mounting Root File System ..
Waiting for root file System ..

and then that is all it dose, I started it in Safe mode and it stopped at

[4294678.215000] drivers/USB/input/hid - core.c:V2.6:USB HID Core Driver

and stops :?

I have tried to boot with a Normal PS/2 Mouse and Keyboard, normally i Use a USB mouse and keyboard, but it just dose the same.

Has this happened to anyone before?
