Hi,

a brief search on the web returns many different hits for "emerson". Perhaps if you tell us exactly what "emerson" is, someone may be able to help you.

Cheers,

This link points to a page that has a tar.gz file for Linux. If you extract the files within the tar.gz and look at the files contained in it you will most probably find a file called install and one called read.me or something similar. Once you have read through them you should know how to install the application.

I think it is worthy to note that the file was uploaded in 2010 so it is approximately 4 years old now. It may not be secure, and may not be compatible with your version of Ubuntu anymore.

Is there any way to "fullfill dependencis" somehow since I need to be able to read the Daysy books. Is there some other way to download and read them in for instance ubuntu?

Hi,

auto-apt can be useful to automatically install dependencies when building/installing from source.
See, for example http://www.howtogeek.com/106526/how-...are-on-ubuntu/

Make sure you read the Linux FAQ as it describes the dependencies and possible issues. Be sure to read through this section on pulseaudio as there seems to be issues with it.

Note also it mentions Openjdk may work in lieu of the Java requirement.

I think "daisy books" are some sort of e-book, in the DAISY format.

Ubuntu software centre has calibre which is for reading e-books, and converting them between formats. It should be very easy to install, and is currently maintained: http://www.calibre.org.uk/

You might like to try that instead of (unmaintained) emerson-reader
