Hi,

Unlike rpm based distro.. ubuntu iso cd does not have whole bunch of packges.
I have mount iso image on /mmt I see boot,dists,install... directories.

its a live images. Do I need to use dvd iso so I can install some packages of it ?

Thank you

The idea is you connect to the internet and download the latest package versions instead of using outdated versions from CD.

Not sure what you are trying to do but the 18.04 iso of Ubuntu is far too large to fit on a CD. The majority of what will be installed is in the casper directory. Are you planning to install Ubuntu or just get packages??

I have installed ubuntu 18.4. Now it has very few network tools. I have to resolve network issue. So need to install more tools.

For example.
ifupdow
network-manager
network.server
nmcli
is not installed out of the box. Only thing which I can use is "netplan apply"

All you need is 'ifconfig' and 'route', these two tools allow to establish internet connection (it will not survive reboot). Alternative tool is 'ip', it can be used to configure the interface and set up route.
