ubuntu 18.04 wont detect second monitor

Hey, as the title says, my ubuntu 18.04 on laptop won't detect the second monitor, I'm pretty new on Linux and have tried few things, but don't do much my own anymore, since it seems I need to go deeper and it's easy to mess up things. Maybe here someone can help me a bit more.
Some information:
The first monitor is LG widescreen with HDMI, its detected nice and works well.
Another one is some Dell, nothing shows up anywhere.

Things that may help: I remember when I installed Ubuntu, I had to set somewhere grub menu nomodset to get Ubuntu running (maybe related??).
command 'xrandr' gives output:

Code:
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 2560 x 1080, current 2560 x 1080, maximum 2560 x 1080
default connected primary 2560x1080+0+0 0mm x 0mm
  2560x1080 92.00*
command 'lspci -v' output:

It turns out I'm using Intel graphic card and my Linux won't ever know about Nvidia card?

command 'lspci -k | grep -A 2 -i "VGA"' gives:

please give us more information:
do you have one ore more video cards (type/model/whatever info...)? Which one do you really need? How the monitors are connected to where (to which video card)?
Do you have another OS on this box? Does that detects everything properly?

Hey,
Thank you for your reply.
I'm not really home with computers in general, but I try to do my best.
I should have 2 video cards, Intel integrated and NVIDIA GTX1050, I found command 'lspci' what gives output as following:

Code:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v6/7th Gen Core Processor Host Bridge/DRAM Registers (rev 05)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Skylake PCIe Controller (x16) (rev 05)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Device 591b (rev 04)
00:14.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H USB 3.0 xHCI Controller (rev 31)
00:14.2 Signal processing controller: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H Thermal subsystem (rev 31)
00:16.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H CSME HECI #1 (rev 31)
00:17.0 SATA controller: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H SATA Controller [AHCI mode] (rev 31)
00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H PCI Express Root Port #1 (rev f1)
00:1c.2 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H PCI Express Root Port #3 (rev f1)
00:1c.3 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H PCI Express Root Port #4 (rev f1)
00:1c.6 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H PCI Express Root Port #7 (rev f1)
00:1d.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H PCI Express Root Port #9 (rev f1)
00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H LPC Controller (rev 31)
00:1f.2 Memory controller: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H PMC (rev 31)
00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation CM238 HD Audio Controller (rev 31)

05:00.0 USB controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1142 USB 3.1 Host Controller

Witch one I really need? I don't need any hardcore graphic, I use pc more of data work, don't play any game, so in short: I need the one where I can plug multiple monitors.

A working monitor is plugged with HDMI, another one I can plug via USB-c or mini display port (not 100% sure how its called, found a pic on the internet, and it sure looks like this) - doesn't recognize either one.

I have only Ubuntu 18.04 installed in my pc and everything else works properly.

looks like both detected. I don't know if nvidia driver was properly installed. ( you can start for example here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1045...force-gtx-1050 to check )

But it looks like you cannot plug in the second monitor, that's why it wasn't recognized (usb-c most probably cannot be used). What kind of laptop is it?

Hey, first, thank you for your help!
I'm going to try it tomorrow.
I have custom made laptop, by a company who definitely knows what they are doing.
When I had win10 installed, screens were working just fine, I do suspect that its drivers issue myself also.

Does Windows see and work properly with both monitors, especially the USB-C connected one?

Also did you see this
