Ubuntu 14.4 Keyboard freezes

Hi there,
I am completely new to Linux, but am an experienced Windows user. I installed Linux 14.4 on my Asus EE 100H Notebook (Atom processor) I tried to connect a rapoo bluetooth keyboard Model 6100. The keybonrd was recognised and installed, but now neither my Notebook keyboard or the rapoo keyboard function. Linux loads OK and I have the desktop, but cannot enter anything via the keyboard. The USB mouse functions normally. If I press Ctrl, Alt and F1 I enter a command line situation where I can enter information or commands, but have no idea how this helps me to sort out the keyboard problem. I see that other people have had similar problems with other versions of Ubuntu/Linux but cannot find a solution that works for me. Can anyone help?

I don't understand what you're saying. On the one hand you say,
Quote:
now neither my Notebook keyboard or the rapoo keyboard function.
then you say,
Quote:
If I press Ctrl, Alt and F1 I enter a command line situation
(and by "command line situation" you mean a tty). So your second statement seems to contradict your first statement. If your keyboard doesn't function how do you explain your ability to use your keyboard to switch into a tty (and once there does your keyboard function or not?)?
Please try to clarify your situation.

Bluetooth freezes keyboard

Thanks for the reply. I have actually reinstalled Linux and it is working fine. I won't try to install the Rapoo Keyboard this time. However, it was strange. None of the normal keys (letters, figures, etc) functioned, but if I pressed Strg, Alt and F1 together, that worked and I entered a command line which accepted input. I suspect that the problem lies with the Bluetooth drivers. I can usually figure out and solve problems in Windows, but I am completely new to Linux and as yet have no experience in solving problems. Thanks anyway for the offer of help.
