knudfl, I have to do a whole configuration of the SD card (boot, partition) for the zedboard. I don't know if transfering .bin files to the drive and then on the SD card would do ?

Habitual,

On the guest (ubuntu) I did not have vboxusers when I first tried to add my user to the group. Then I created it. Now the user shows to be in the vboxusers (999).
How do I check if the user (on the guest) is in the vboxusers on the host (Windows 10) ?

Thank you for your suggestions.

For the SD card, I used a shared folder with the host.
For the flashdrive and USB peripherals I updated Virtualbox to the newest version, with the newest extensions. Which I think was causing the issue: extension version was more recent than the virtualbox version. Then I updated my USB drive on the host, which was easily detected by Virtualbox and by the guest.
