Okay,
I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 server in a VirtualBox.
On my first login I made a typo and logged on as 'brace'
when I intended 'grace'. Ubuntu created a new user
'brace'. Since I wanted the name to be 'grace' I changed
the user name to grace, and renamed the /home/brace
directory to 'grace'. Problem solved! BUT, when I shelled
in and logged in as grace I got the following:
"Could not chdir to home directory /home/brace: No such
file or directory" ---Ooops!
Is there a clean and easy way to fix this, or should I
just do the installation over again.
Incidentally I found out that if You are trying to use
PuTTY to shell into a VirtualBox Bridged Adapter, You
will run into a problem if You have Windows Virtuual PC
2007 server installed. Add this to Bridged Adapter
problems usual suspect list.
This looks like a great forum. Thank You in advance for
any help that You may be able to offer.
Regards,
