Ubuntu 12.04 ( S-video Display) issues

When I booted up ubuntu after running sudo apt-get install nvidia-current and went to install the ubuntu desktop that went fine however when rebooting instead of pulling up the gui it still boots up text based i then went to run startx an get the no screens found, and nvidia module missing. How am i to get the gui up and running.
