ubuntu 10.10 on windows 7 ultimate


dear all

when i try to install ubuntu 10.10, it give me error and failed finaly however the first screen start normal where it take parameter setting like username,c drive, etc

also during this process it go to internet and have start download

ubuntu.amd64.torrent.iso

so i bring and download both 32bits and 64biths edition, however my windows 7 is 32 bits...i try both .iso burn cd and by image virtual cd too.

all ways getting failed...

what should i do in such case

I'm not sure what the problem is but

grep flags /proc/cpuinfo => if there is "lm" in the output your system is 64bit if not its 32bit.

also try md5 checking your images, there should be a checking option on the boot screen of the CD too.

but where to execute this it is windows 32 bits what it shows me, the command u give me is run on linux and linux is fail to install on windows

boot with one of your ubuntu live disks, execute this in ubuntu. You can also read your computer manual to learn if its 32bit or not.
