Hey, were you able to solve this issue? I just purchased a Sansa Clip and I connected it to my pc... The music player recognizes it but I can't mount it on my desktop. I would like to just cp the music to the device instead of using the music player.
Thanks

ceantuco,

The Clip has two modes, MTP and MSC (mass storage class). If you just want to copy files to the device like a regular USB flash drive you need to change to MSC mode.
