ubunt6.06/ndiswrapper-utls installed but not found

As I want to install a wireless adapter that requires ndiswrapper-utils I installed this module directly from the ubuntu installation DvD using the Synaptic Package Manager. However when I attempted to then install the driver via the terminal I received the error message that no ndiswrapper versions were found. I tried reinstalling it through the package manager but got the same message. Am I missing something here?

Ndiswrapper missing

Try searching for ndiswrapper using command:

$sudo whereis ndiswrapper

You should get results like,
/usr/sbin/ndiswrapper /etc/ndiswrapper and so on.

If not, you may need to download the source and compile it.

Make sure when you use ndiswrapper you use it using sudo.
