two wallpapers running at once

Well, the problem is, i have two desktop wallpapers running at once, as the screenshot details, and I'm not quite sure how to remove one of them. (Preferably the one being displayed on top)

- the wallpaper that appears in the "Appearance Preferences" shows up on top, and actually hides some programs underneath it, such as Conky.
How do i fix this?

thanks,
- gotterkind

okay... now something different has happened:

I've quit compiz, and restarted that program, and now i am unable to bring up the "Appearance Preferences" window like that, now it opens up as the other version - BUT, the two wallpapers that i had running before, have switched which is ontop - the one that was on top before, is now on bottom, and i still can't get the program Conky to be above all of this mess
:S
