Two quick Linux Questions for a newbie.
First question is, when I am in the shell console and say I want to run kedit. I type ' kedit ' at the $. But how do I run kedit and still have use of my shell console. I use to know how to do this before...
Second, I installed Mandrake 9.1 and I am using kde 3.1, i am not liking it too much, kinda bulky. I remember around 97 or so using Redhat Linux and its set up was real nice. KDE 3.1 is too much windows style and BIG (view wise)... I hope you know what i mean. Thanks.. I will have more questions as I start to use linux again. Very excited. Oh wait another question. I have a php file, how do I set up a database and everything, might be better to point me towards a manual link here , need to learn a lot here on using mysql and all that.. THANKS!!!! |
