two kenels problem at centos 5.2 in vmware!

I have installed centos 5.2 32bit in vmware.

rpm -Uvh vmwaretools-7.8.4-126130.i386.rpm
yum -y update
uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.18-92.1.18.el5 #1 SMP Tue Jun 10 18:49:47 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Surely, I should install vmware tools again, however

"rpm -Uvh VMwaretools-7.8.4-126130.i386.rpm"
command stopped showing this error message.

" Guest operating system daemon: unable to start services for vmware tools"

I tried 3 more times, but same.
At this stage vmware tools does not work, thus malfunctioned mouse and screen resolution.

So I tried to boot old kernel.

[root:localhost:~]#uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.18-92.el5 #1 SMP Tue Jun 10 18:49:47 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
[root:localhost:~]#rpm -qa | grep ^kernel | sort
I cannot search any clue at google.

I nee help for solving this problem.

Any comment would be appreciated.
