Tutorial for bringing Linux Box Online.

Hi LQ,

Greetings !

I am new to the forum and have just installed Linux(Red Hat) on one of the PC at home. Just wanted to know if anyone is aware of a tutorial which will walk me through " how to bring the PC online " so that I can access the box from outside (through VPN or something similar).

Thanks again !

Raj

For you to access your box from the house you will need to either A) hook the box directly to your internet connection in which case make sure you are not running any unneeded services and have your iptables setup. or B) depending on what protocols you need just add nat entries to point to your server IE port 80 maps to 192.168.x.y or what ever your internal scheme is.
