Turn Box off?

Hey I am really new.
Is linux designed to be left running???
Ie windows like and needs to be shut down
Can I keep my box running 24 /7?

I keep it on all the time, and I've never had a problem. Of course, if you aren't running a server of some sort there's no real reason to, and it does use electricity.

You don't even have to restart when you install stuff!
