Trying to surf web from work-at-home Linux installation .Please help

Hello, I am trying to surf the web from a work-at-home flash-drive installation of Linux. It appears to be a custom .ISO of Linux. I think I am blocked by some sort of proxy server. I can not disable it because the option to has bee removed.I also think that it uses a VPN of some sort. My question is: is there a way to set up an alternate proxy or bypass it somehow so that I can access everyday websites like gmail? Or, can I set up an alternate VPN to do this? Thank you in advance..

Short answer is yes: you can bypass proxies and other security measures using a variety of methods.
Long answer: we aren't going to answer that here, because it's against the LQ Rules.

Also, bear in mind that if you're using your work system in violation of what your company says, you CAN EASILY BE FIRED/prosecuted. Is checking your Gmail worth your job?

Hi and welcome to Linux Questiion!

As noticed, the LQ policy doesn't permit answers to this kind of questions. Please consider the possibility of asking the IT of your company. Maybe they can fulfill your requests.

This thread is closed in order to avoid possible infringements to the LQ rules.
