Trying to run a win32 *.exe file in Mepis

I have Simply Mepis installed on hda. I would like to run a win32 *.exe executable file either from the command line or gui. What shell is best for this job? Are there any additional packages (like wine maybe) that I should try to "apt-get" that would make this task a little easier?

You can't run the windows excutable natively, you must run it through wine or cedega or similar. Then to run it you type `wine /path/to/win32app.exe` However be warned, wine doesn't work with all windows apps and may require a bit of fiddling
