trying to install unzip on freebsd webserver

hi all - hopefully someone can point me in the right direction

i host on a shared freebsd webserver (btw edatarack and their support really sucks). i am able to ftp a zip file onto the server, but do not know how to extract it.

there does not seem to be an unzip programme in the \bin directory, so i downloaded unzip from info-zip.org and was able to ftp it onto the server.

how do i go about installing it and running it on freebsd (i have not worked with any flavour of unix before).

the hosting co. does not provide telnet or ssh access. i can only use ftp, but when i use the command "unzip" through ftp this obviously does not work.

please help!

thanks

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.

turbo3lf, if you decide your question first better to a different forum than the one you have just posted it to, report it to be moved. Don't create a new one. Thanks.
