So far Ive download Kmldonkey 0.10(using KDE 3.3.0) and installed using Yast2. Kmldonkey provided a Setup wizard, It's first instructions were to is to obtain an MLDonkey core. It suggested the following web sites;KMLDonkey.org, Spiralvoice, MLDonkey World.
After downloading the following file: mlnet-2.5.28h-linux-i386, the wizard instructed to extract the package somewhere convenient, and press "Next". Do not worry about configuring or starting what you downloaded; it will do that later.
next I created a work folder for the MLDonkey core inorder to store its configuration data, temporary files and finished downloads. Next I had to select the full path to your MLDonkey core, which I downloaded earlier. archive I've downloaded only contained one file; the wizard stated this is the core, I did not notice a program called "mlnet".

I am not able to continue to the next step because it's not accepting the MLDonkey core that I had download, any suggestion

Thanks

I hate edonkey clients because of the huge cues even for small files. try limewire instead but you need java.

do a google for mldonkey-2.5.16.tar.gz That is all you need, all that other crap you have I don't know anything about, but from there you can do a ./configure ./make ./make install Once everything with that is done, you run a mldonkey as root and then mldonkey_gui as the user and you're set.

hbonds1 03-03-2005 12:34 PM

I was able google mldonkey-2.5.16.tar.gz and ./configure; it went through the process and produced the following results:Building dependencies
Building dependencies fails: try: 'make depend' or 'gmake depend'
The following modules will not be compiled: { audio_galaxy(obsolete) openFT(obsolete) mldonkey_gui$(EXE) mldonkey_gui2$(EXE) mlchat$(EXE) }

It will not allow me to ./make and ./make install

no such file or directory is all I get with the above commands

one other thing when I run ./make I will get the following
make
make: *** No targets. Stop.

I'm definately doing something wrong

./make will not work at all.. you must be running make correctly though otherwise you wouldn't be getting that output

hbonds1 03-03-2005 03:06 PM

If everything is compiling as it should, what am I missing, that preventing mldonkey from producing the file mlnet

Silly question, did you try make depend? If the configure tells you to run it, then run it, see what happens. I have no clue about the other files that you downloaded... Another stupid question, are you sure the source you downloaded was for linux i686 arch?

Stealth870 03-03-2005 08:07 PM

You have installed the gcc stuff so that you are able to compile stuff in SUse

hbonds1 03-04-2005 07:35 AM

This is a major learing curve for me, I'm not sure what gcc stuff is , and I did enter the make depend and nothing positve happened. How do you tell is arch is i686?

I appreciate everyone help and patient with this :)

I configure the file mldonkey-2.5.16 it has the following descrepancies:

Building dependencies fails: try: 'make depend' or 'gmake depend'
The following modules will not be compiled: { audio_galaxy(obsolete) openFT(obsolete) mldonkey_gui$(EXE) mldonkey_gui2$(EXE) mlchat$(EXE) }

After running make depend my results are as follows:

make: *** No rule to make target `depend'. Stop.

Googling this problem I found one possible solution:

Yeah, it is not compatible with new ocaml. For now, downgrade your ocaml
to 3.07.x and hope for a new mldonkey release soon

hbonds1 03-05-2005 04:11 PM

ocaml tends to process fine, it's the lablgtk that does not work for the most part the configure command is not present, or the make, gmake, make depend files are not attached.

I've googled several version and have the same results with all of them
