Trying to install Gimp
 

Have tried to d/l gimp using package manager on my Linpus Linux machine (Acer Aspire One) but got these conflicts: file /etc/esd.conf from install of esound-libs-0.2.38-6.fc8 conflicts with file from package esound-0.2.36-3.lp
file /usr/lib/libesd.so.0 from install of esound-libs-0.2.38-6.fc8 conflicts with file from package esound-0.2.36-3.lp
file /usr/lib/libesddsp.so.0 from install of esound-libs-0.2.38-6.fc8 conflicts with file from package esound-0.2.36-3.lp
file /usr/share/man/man1/esd-config.1.gz from install of esound-devel-0.2.38-6.fc8 conflicts with file from package esound-0.2.36-3.lp

I am new to Linux. Can anyone please help with simple step by step instructions?

Tip number 4 refers to installing GIMP but you will need to carry out tip number 3 first.
I recommend that you print the tips before proceeding further. Also note tip number 2.
