Trying to install Fedora 12
Greetings,
I decided I wanted to try Fedora 12 instead of Ubuntu. I've burned 3 different disks trying to install. I've checked the disks for errors and they're fine but Fedora 12 just won't install. It hangs and never stops hanging even though the drive seems to be doing something and the HDD light is blinking as if it is installing.
I get the initial screen on setup but that's it.
On my Ubuntu, I had to make the noacpi selection at boot time. Would this be what's causing this problem.
Thanx.
BG

Before installing , check the DVD content. Is there any checksum errors or not.
media check option was provided by fedora itself. or else you can use special tools like downloaded image itself can be checked by using ISO checking software's.

Fedora bittorent(ed)
Thanx for the reply.
In the installation guide, it says that if you downloaded the torrent, the file is checked at the end of the download.
(I'm not quiet sure how to go about this anyway).
I took out the "quiet" in the boot options and all I see are OK on the right side until it gets to something called abrt-daemon (?). Then the screen goes black and I sometimes get, or not, the mouse on the screen.
?

Fedora Live 686
I went into the LiveOS directory on the disk and typed
Code:
md5sum livecd-iso-to-disk.
this was the result:
