The only question I can think to ask: "What is the error messagge" That of course leads to: "Is there a Hard Drive Test on the CDs you are trying to install from"?
If you read my post #4 you'll notice I did ask the op questions to try and probe and help with the situation: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...94#post3233194

Actually we have not illuminated the version issue. First there is no RH or RHEL Version 12. Second if his sata chipset is newer than F7, that could be the issue.

So that's why I'm trying to explain, instead of just telling them to upgrade without knowing, ask like I did, make/model number and then kindly suggest that there are newer versions available that might possibly fix the issue. I'm just trying to say, just flat out telling them to upgrade without any other probing of their issue to determine is just like telling members to RTFM, which we shouldn't do.

I can understand the current debate about whether suggesting that someone give the latest distro version a try is a good idea or not. Both sides make valid points and as such neither side will be right or wrong. But look at how much space has been used on this thread for that debate instead of for addressing other possible causes/solutions to the OP's issue. I would like to kindly ask everyone to please try to have your replies focus on the OP, and not so much on the "latest version" debate.
